Hyderabad: BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind on Monday hit back at Telangana Congress president Mahesh Kumar Goud, rejecting his remarks against Union Minister Bandi Sanjay and calling the Congress’s allegations “diversionary tactics.”
Speaking to reporters, Arvind said it was ironic for the Congress to accuse others of caste politics. “Caste politics is the Congress party’s own brand,” he said. Arvind maintained that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had done more for Backward Classes than any other leader.
Arvind counters Congress, says vote theft claims are a cover-up
Goud had earlier questioned Bandi Sanjay’s BC status and accused him of using caste and religion for political gain. Arvind said such remarks were aimed at dividing voters and distracting from the Congress government’s failures.
He dismissed the vote theft allegations in Telangana as baseless. He also called the Congress promise of 42% BC reservations in local body polls a hollow gimmick to mislead the public.
According to Arvind, Congress leaders were making sensational claims to mask their poor performance. He said the people of Telangana would not fall for such tactics.
Looking ahead to the upcoming local elections, Arvind exuded confidence in the BJP’s ground strength. He credited the party’s expanding base and dedicated cadre for its momentum.
He concluded that public sentiment was gradually turning against the Congress, and the BJP would continue gaining ground across Telangana.
