Hyderabad, January 8: Tensions erupted at Devarakonda Government Hospital on Tuesday after the death of a newborn, with the infant’s family accusing doctors of negligence. The incident led to an attack on the hospital, where enraged relatives vandalised furniture and other property.
According to reports, a woman from a nearby village was admitted to the hospital for delivery. The doctors performed the procedure, but the newborn did not survive. The distraught relatives blamed medical negligence for the tragedy and demanded answers.
When hospital staff failed to provide satisfactory explanations, the relatives turned violent, causing damage to hospital equipment and furniture.
Authorities are investigating the allegations, while hospital officials have refrained from commenting further.
