Hyderabad: A shocking case of sexual assault surfaced late from Bachupally police limits, where a 20-year-old bio-engineering student from Jharkhand was allegedly raped by her college friend and another man.
The survivor, currently in her final year at a Chennai college, had been lured to the city under the pretext of securing an internship at Apollo Hospital, Jubilee Hills. Her classmate Ajay (24), a BTech student from the same college and resident of Harithavanam Colony, Bachupally, allegedly promised to help her get the position.
On May 3, she arrived in Hyderabad from Chennai. Instead of taking her to the hospital, Ajay brought her to a flat in the Rajiv Gruhakalpa housing complex in Nizampet. There, he and his friend Hari allegedly consumed vodka with her.
Sometime past midnight, police said Ajay raped her first, followed by Hari.
The case only came to light after the survivor filed a complaint with Bachupally police. Both accused have since been taken into custody, confirmed CI Upender.
