Hyderabad: Union Minister and BJP leader Bandi Sanjay on Saturday accused the Congress and BRS of shielding each other’s corruption. He described it as a “you protect me, I protect you” pact that was dragging Telangana into crisis.
Speaking in Karimnagar while extending Rakhi Pournami greetings, Sanjay said “strange politics” were at play in the state.
Accuses BRS of widespread phone tapping
Sanjay alleged that in the ongoing phone-tapping case, no political leader had been arrested despite SIT inquiries. He said accused officer Radha Kishan Rao had named former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. He claimed K.T. Rama Rao had ordered his phone to be tapped and challenged KTR to swear on this “in wet clothes” at any temple of his choice, along with his family.
He said even BRS leaders’ phones were tapped. He condemned tagging political opponents as Maoist sympathisers, saying the list included both himself and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Questions alleged corruption and election funding
Sanjay accused the BRS of tapping the phones of judges, couples, businessmen and film personalities for blackmail. He questioned the source of “thousands of crores” allegedly amassed by KCR. He asked if funds were sent to the Delhi and West Bengal governments in the past, and whether KCR had financed Maharashtra elections.
Demands CBI probe into phone-tapping case
Sanjay criticised the SIT for not summoning either KCR or KTR. He said the BJP had no trust in a state-led probe and demanded the case be handed to the CBI for a full investigation.
