Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay on Monday said the BJP’s stand on irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project had been vindicated. He demanded that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) take full responsibility for the alleged corruption.
BJP reiterates CBI probe demand
Sanjay recalled that the BJP had consistently sought a CBI inquiry into the project. He alleged that the Congress government had delayed action to shield the BRS but had now been forced to concede by agreeing to hand over the case to the CBI.
“The government must immediately write to the CBI without wasting any more time,” he demanded.
Criticism of Congress government
The Union Minister also attacked the state government for failing to follow through on its own announcements. He pointed out that although the Congress earlier ordered a SIT probe into the Outer Ring Road toll tenders, the panel had not been constituted so far.
He further alleged that the ongoing phone-tapping scandal in Telangana had turned into a “daily serial” with no conclusion in sight.
‘BRS must own moral responsibility’
Sanjay insisted that the Kaleshwaram corruption issue had reached a point where the BRS could no longer evade accountability. “The BRS must own moral responsibility for what has happened,” he said.
