Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay on Friday said the BJP would capture the Karimnagar and Sircilla Zilla Parishad chairperson posts in the upcoming local body elections. He cited survey reports that, according to him, showed strong public backing for the party.
At a meeting with Karimnagar Parliament constituency leaders in EN Gardens, Sanjay said many local leaders would win MPTC and ZPTC seats. Moreover, he declared that people were waiting to defeat the Congress and BRS. He added that BJP candidates would emerge successful across the region.

Sanjay accused the Congress and BRS governments of weakening panchayats and diverting central funds. He said former sarpanches fell into debt after state governments failed to clear bills for completed works. Some, he added, had even left their villages and taken up menial jobs in Hyderabad.
According to him, the Congress government had failed to deliver its promises on pensions, jobs, farm aid, and welfare schemes. Furthermore, he pointed out that not a single major assurance had been implemented, adding that voters were angry and wanted change.
On candidate selection, Sanjay explained that the BJP was conducting surveys. Therefore, tickets would go only to winnable aspirants. He assured those not chosen that the party would provide organisational roles and support. However, he warned that leaders working against official nominees would face strict action.
He claimed that people were showing growing acceptance of the BJP. In addition, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership remained a strong factor. Sanjay highlighted that the Centre had given ₹20,000 crore for development in Karimnagar over six years. These funds, he said, covered roads, borewells, and community halls.
The Minister told leaders that only the Centre could support village development. Congress, he argued, lacked funds, while BRS offered “no future.” He concluded that voting for them was like “throwing votes into the drain.”
People are waiting to defeat Congress & BRS in local body elections.
Congress has no will to hold polls, cheated every section & starved panchayats of funds. BRS lost power, but its arrogance still lingers.
