Bandi Sanjay criticises Telangana government over fee reimbursement issue

Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticised the Congress government in Telangana for ignoring the growing education crisis. He said the shutdown of more than 2,500 private colleges was the first such incident in the state’s history. The minister called it shameful that the government had not yet acted on pending fee reimbursement payments, which forced private colleges to go on strike.

Bandi Sanjay, in a post on X, said the strike by private colleges had entered its third day. He added that students, teachers, and parents had been suffering for four academic years two under the BRS government and two under the current Congress rule.

Bandi Sanjay demands immediate fee reimbursement Telangana payment

The minister said private colleges had urged the government to release at least half of the ₹10,500 crore dues. But instead of paying, the Congress leadership formed a committee filled with its supporters. He called it a “political drama” meant to delay the process.

Bandi Sanjay questioned the government’s failure to keep its promise of releasing ₹600 crore before Dasara. He also asked why it stopped paying ₹1,200 crore worth of bills despite issuing tokens. According to him, the Congress government was running the state’s finances recklessly and hurting the education sector.

He demanded that the state immediately release 50% of the pending amount. He said this would bring relief to students, teachers, and staff who were struggling due to the delay.
