Hyderabad: Union Minister and BJP leader Bandi Sanjay on Sunday challenged BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao to a public debate with BJP MP CM Ramesh, intensifying the row over recent remarks exchanged between the two.
Addressing media, Sanjay defended CM Ramesh’s comments on BRS and KTR as “truthful” and said BRS was politically weakened in Telangana.
Sanjay claimed that it was CM Ramesh who secured an MLA ticket for KTR in Sircilla, alleging that KCR initially denied his son the ticket. “KTR became MLA only because of CM Ramesh. He even financed his campaign,” Sanjay said.
He dismissed any possibility of a BRS-BJP merger. “BRS is just KCR’s family. His son, daughter, nephew—nothing more. They’re stuck in corruption and unable to manage the party,” he said.
Sanjay publicly asked KTR if he would accept CM Ramesh’s debate challenge. “I will set the stage in Karimnagar. I’ll bring CM Ramesh. Just give us a date—will you come, KTR?” he asked.
He also distanced CM Ramesh’s statements from Telangana CM Revanth Reddy. “Revanth has no link to this issue,” Sanjay said.
Truth can’t be buried under denial.
Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji confirmed it in Nizamabad meeting that KCR begged for his son. Now CM Ramesh Garu revealed it further that KCR’s son begged for Kavitha.
BRS must stop backdoor legacy deals.

Condemning KTR’s recent comments on the police and the Chief Minister, Sanjay said, “This is not language befitting a public leader. Calling a CM a hooligan is unacceptable. Insulting police is worse.” He warned KTR to “change his language,” adding, “I don’t say this as Home Minister, I say this as a citizen. If he doesn’t change, we’ll respond accordingly.”
