HYDERABAD: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay has alleged that the Telangana government is using the Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS) as a means to generate Rs 50,000 crore illegally. Speaking at a campaign event in Peddapalli for the Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Medak graduate and teacher MLC elections, he launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress party.
During a press meet, Bandi Sanjay accused Congress of failing to fulfill pre-election promises and misleading the public with its six guarantees. He claimed that frustration against the government was growing across all sections of society. He urged government employees, teachers, and unemployed youth to teach Congress a lesson in the upcoming MLC elections.
He mocked Congress for struggling to find a suitable candidate for the teachers’ MLC seat, stating that such a situation for a ruling party was unique to Telangana. He also alleged that BRS withdrew from the elections out of fear and predicted a BJP victory in three MLC seats with first-preference votes.
On caste census, Bandi Sanjay criticized Congress for including Muslims in the Backward Classes (BC) category, calling it an injustice. He demanded the removal of Muslims from the BC category and the allocation of 42% reservations exclusively for BCs. He warned that the BJP would not support the reservation proposal unless this correction was made.
Bandi Sanjay also defended the central government, claiming it had provided substantial funds to Telangana. He challenged the state government for a debate on financial allocations and expressed his readiness to discuss the issue publicly.
