Hyderabad: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of three students and left six others injured on Tuesday night in Wadarevu, Chirala mandal of Bapatla district, Andhra Pradesh. The incident occurred when a moving car’s tyre suddenly burst, causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times.
According to police, nine students from MBTS Polytechnic College in Guntur, originally from Guntur and Tenali areas, had travelled to the seaside for an outing. While returning in an Innova vehicle, the sudden tyre burst led to a loss of control, resulting in the fatal crash.
Nineteen-year-old Rohit Kumar Naik and 18-year-old Ajay died on the spot. Another student, 24-year-old Karthik, succumbed to his injuries later at the hospital.
The injured students identified as Devdutt, Samuel, Hosna, Vishnu Shashank, Tanush Venkata Naga Sai, and Achyut Pranesh are undergoing treatment at various hospitals.
Following the accident, Chirala DSP M.D. Moin visited the scene. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway to ascertain further details.
