HYDERABAD: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the establishment of three battery manufacturing clusters in Telangana, aiming to boost the electric vehicle (EV) sector. Vaishnaw attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Amara Raja Batteries’ Giga factory at Divitipalli in Mahabubnagar district on Saturday. Speaking to the media at the airport, he emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to set up large-scale manufacturing units. The central government is supporting three manufacturing clusters in Telangana, with one located at Divitipalli, where the EV battery company’s groundbreaking ceremony took place today. Both central and state governments are collaborating on these projects.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the airport, Congress ministers and MPs, including Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Seethakka, Konda Surekha, Chamal Kiran Kumar Reddy, Kadiyam Kavya, and Balaram Naik, met with Minister Vaishnaw. They submitted a memorandum on behalf of the government concerning pending railway projects. Minister Komatireddy detailed that they discussed these issues for half an hour, during which Vaishnaw responded positively. He expressed special gratitude for the assurance of providing a ring road to Warangal. Komatireddy also mentioned that they briefed the minister on issues such as establishing a separate Kazipet division, clarifying the pending Vikarabad railway line, and the Dornakal-Bhadrachalam railway line bridge.
