Ministers review Batukamma 2025 preparations in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Telangana ministers reviewed Batukamma 2025 preparations in Hyderabad, aiming to ensure a safe and grand celebration of the state’s iconic floral festival. The meeting took place at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat.

Ministers Jupalli Krishna Rao, Konda Surekha, and Seethakka directed officials to clean immersion points, repair damaged roads, and enforce safety protocols. Additionally, they asked the culture department to decorate major roads, heritage spots, and junctions with traditional lighting.

The festival will begin on September 27 with a Batukamma carnival at Tank Bund. On September 28, bike and cycle rallies will be held across the city. The following day, over 10,000 women will gather at Saroornagar Stadium for a Guinness World Record attempt featuring a 63-foot floral Batukamma.

The final day of celebrations, September 30, will feature a grand immersion procession at Tank Bund. Besides this, the event will include cultural shows, lighting displays, a food festival, and a handloom expo.

To boost participation, ministers urged officials to mobilise women employees, IT professionals, and residents. They also stressed the inclusion of folk and tribal artists to showcase Telangana’s rich cultural legacy.

Among those present were State Women’s Corporation Chairperson Bandru Shobha, SERP CEO Divya Devarajan, Tourism MD Valluru Kranti, and Culture Director Anugu Narasimhareddy, along with other senior officials.
