HYDERABAD: BC leader R. Krishnaiah has strongly opposed the Telangana government’s plan to auction 800 acres of land near the Central University in Gachibowli. He asserted that the government does not have the authority to sell public assets and vowed to stop the auction through legal and political means.
Government’s Debt and Public Land Sales
Krishnaiah pointed out that Telangana’s debt has reached ₹7 lakh crore, with ₹1 lakh crore added under the current administration. He criticized the government for attempting to sell public lands instead of finding alternative financial solutions.
Legal and Political Action Planned
Krishnaiah emphasized that he had opposed similar auctions during the previous government’s tenure as well. He announced plans to escalate the matter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and file a petition in the Supreme Court to challenge the proposed auction. He assured that BC organizations and other concerned groups would take all necessary steps to prevent the sale.
