HYDERABADI: In celebration of the upcoming Ugadi festival, the Backward Classes (BC) Welfare Department of Telangana has initiated a campaign promoting the use of traditional clay pots. On Saturday, BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced that, under the department’s guidance, the Shalivahana Kumari Association distributed clay pots to Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and other key leaders.
Minister Prabhakar emphasized the health benefits of using clay utensils and the importance of preserving traditional occupations. He urged citizens to adopt clay pots starting this Ugadi to safeguard their health and support traditional artisans.
In a related announcement, Minister Prabhakar highlighted that, for the first time in the country, Telangana will commence the distribution of fine rice through ration shops, replacing the previous variety. He encouraged villagers to report any issues to district officials via village secretaries and assured that unresolved problems could be brought directly to his attention.
