,Hyderabad: A 21-year-old para-medical student took his own life at a BC welfare hostel in Hayathnagar on Thursday night.
Hayathnagar CI Nagaraju Goud identified the deceased as Anil Kumar. He was the son of Rayini Sailu from Chillapalli village in Peddashankarampet mandal, Medak district. Anil was studying in the second year at the DMIIT Vijay Research of Para Medical Laboratory institute.
For the past two years, he had been staying at the BC welfare hostel on Road Number 10 in Samanagar, BN Reddy Nagar. Around 6 PM on Wednesday, he went into his room and locked the door. Later that night, when he did not respond, other students broke the door open.
They found Anil hanging from the ceiling fan using a towel and wire. They rushed him to Krishnaveni Hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The reason for the suicide is still unclear. Police have filed a case and started investigating.
