Hyderabad: Rythu Bharosa payments will reach farmers’ accounts in nine days, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said on Monday.
He was speaking at an event organised at the Agriculture University in Rajendranagar.
The scheme will apply to all 1.49 crore acres under cultivation in the state. Each acre will get ₹12,000. No ceiling has been set on acreage.
Bhatti said the transfers are happening on the Chief Minister’s instruction.
He also said landless agricultural labourers would get ₹12,000 per family under Indiramma Aatmiya Bharosa.
He acknowledged financial constraints but said the government is going ahead with support measures.
Plans are in place to spend ₹70,000 crore a year on farmers, adding up to ₹3.5 lakh crore over the full term.
The government has so far released ₹260 crore for crop loss, ₹2,181 crore for crop insurance, and ₹16,691 crore to ensure 24-hour free electricity for 29 lakh pump sets.
Another ₹11,000 crore was spent on irrigation projects.
