Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Tuesday directed officials to speed up the relocation of polluting industries beyond Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road.
The directive came during a meeting at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat, which was attended by Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, a member of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Revenue Resource Mobilization. The panel reviewed departmental performance and noted improved revenue collections from the Commercial Taxes and Mining departments.
The meeting also assessed progress on government proposals under the Rajiv Swagruha and Housing Board departments. Bhatti stressed that shifting industries away from densely populated zones would reduce environmental hazards and improve urban living conditions.
Senior officials present included Finance Department Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, R&B Special Secretary Vikas Raj, Commercial Taxes Principal Secretary Rizvi, Energy Department Principal Secretary Naveen Mittal, Industries Department Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar, Revenue and CCLA Secretary Lokesh Kumar, Excise Commissioner Hari Kiran, and Housing VC & MD Gautam.
