Hyderabad: In a fiery address at a massive public meeting in Achampet on Monday, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka tore into BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao, accusing him of presiding over a decade of corrupt governance dominated by “demons”, and hailing the Congress government for restoring people’s faith through real development and welfare.
Mocking KCR in light of his daughter K. Kavitha’s now-viral description of him being “like god surrounded by demons”, Bhatti asked, “How can someone surrounded by demons be divine?” He declared that it was time to banish these “demons from Telangana’s borders” once and for all.
Bhatti Vikramarka, flanked by local leaders, inaugurated and laid foundations for several power substations before addressing the crowd. He highlighted a slew of Congress-led reforms ranging from uninterrupted electricity supply to debt clearance, welfare expansion, and targeted employment schemes contrasting them with what he termed the “hollow, exploitative rule of BRS”.
“When KCR left office, he owed government employees ₹10,000 crore. We’ve already cleared ₹8,000 crore of that within a year,” he said, promising to complete the remainder in a phased manner. “We don’t make excuses we deliver.”
He listed multiple Congress achievements: free power for 90% of households through the 200-unit Griha Jyothi scheme; ₹500 bonus per quintal of fine rice to farmers; ₹22,000 crore one-time farm loan waiver under the earlier Congress regime; and the launch of Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, a ₹9,000 crore self-employment scheme for the educated but unemployed.
Taking aim at KCR’s electricity claims, Bhatti Vikramarka said, “Even with a record 17,162 MW summer demand, we ensured round-the-clock power without a single minute’s interruption. KCR couldn’t manage a single unit from Yadadri power plant in ten years.”
He announced that the state would produce 20,000 MW of green power by 2030 and emerge as a net electricity exporter. “KCR once said Telangana would be in darkness under Congress. Today, we are planning power for the next 50 years,” he said.
He criticised the former CM’s failure to hold a single Group I exam in a decade. “In one year, we filled 57,000 posts and are processing 30,000 more,” he said, adding that the Congress would build a Young India Integrated Residential School in every constituency at ₹200 crore each.
The Deputy CM also highlighted steps for SC/ST development, particularly under the Indira Solar Girijana Jal Vikasa scheme, and revealed that 6.7 lakh acres of tribal lands would receive solar-powered irrigation. “Congress doesn’t just announce schemes we implement them.”
On women’s welfare, he took a jibe at BRS for failing to provide zero-interest loans. “In one year, we’ve given ₹21,000 crore worth of interest-free loans to women SHGs,” he said, pledging to make one crore Telangana women crorepatis.
Bhatti Vikramarka also touched on the Palamuru-Rangareddy project, asserting that it was Congress that sanctioned it through a GO, and that ongoing studies were underway to solarise 45,000 pump sets in Achampet.
He said, “This is a government of the people. A people’s government must be protected for ten generations.”
