Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Sunday paid floral tributes to Congress veteran G. Venkataswamy at Tank Bund on his 96th birth anniversary. Speaking to reporters, he praised Venkataswamy’s lifelong commitment to the poor people and underprivileged.
He said Venkataswamy, fondly called “Kaka,” dedicated his life to social justice. From a young age, he worked for the upliftment of the oppressed and remained focused on their welfare throughout his political journey.
Bhatti recalls Venkataswamy’s leadership and legacy
Bhatti said, “On behalf of the State Government and the Congress Party, we pay our respectful homage to Venkataswamy on his 96th birth anniversary.” He described the late leader’s contributions as Union Minister, State Minister, and PCC President of undivided Andhra Pradesh as “unforgettable and invaluable.”
Furthermore, Bhatti noted that Venkataswamy played a vital role in strengthening labour rights and promoting inclusive development. His policies, the Deputy Chief Minister said, improved the lives of workers and marginalised communities across India.
Venkataswamy remembered for labour reforms and Telangana cause
In addition, Bhatti highlighted that Venkataswamy introduced several landmark welfare schemes and labour-friendly laws during his tenure. These reforms, he said, reflected his deep understanding of social inequality and his commitment to justice.
Meanwhile, Bhatti recalled Venkataswamy’s early and unwavering support for the Telangana movement. “His relentless commitment to the cause of a separate state will always be remembered,” he said.
Therefore, the Deputy Chief Minister urged everyone to draw inspiration from Venkataswamy’s values. Concluding his remarks, he said the best tribute to the late leader would be to uphold his ideals and continue working toward a fair and equal society.
