Hyderabad: The Bibi Ka Alam procession marking the 10th day of Muharram concluded peacefully in the city on Sunday, under extensive security supervision.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand personally monitored the arrangements from the historic Charminar, issuing timely instructions to ensure the smooth conduct of the procession.
Police had enforced heightened security and traffic measures throughout the 10-day Muharram mourning period. The main Bibi Ka Alam was carried on “Lakshmi,” an elephant brought from Karnataka, as the procession set out from the Ashurkhana in Dabeerpura (Darul Shifa) and proceeded towards Masjid-e-Ilahi in Chaderghat along the banks of the Musi River.
Senior police officers, including Vikram Singh Mann (Additional Commissioner, Law & Order), D. Joel Davis (Joint Commissioner, Traffic), Rakshitha Krishna Murthy (DCP CAR Headquarters), and Sneha Mehra (DCP South Zone), were present to oversee security on the route.
Over 3,000 police personnel were deployed to secure the procession. At Charminar, Hyderabad City Police presented garlands and dattis (offerings) to the Alam as a mark of respect.
Thanks to strict arrangements and coordinated efforts, the Bibi Ka Alam procession concluded without any untoward incidents. Commissioner C.V. Anand extended his gratitude to the Shia community for their cooperation and support.
Visited the Bibi ka Alawa in Dabeerpura to offer Dhatti in continuation of a long time tradition of #Hyderabad City. People of all communities visit here during #Muharram and it marks a very historically significant place of communal harmony.
