Hyderabad: BJP MLC C Anji Reddy faced backlash from a large group of unemployed youth when he attempted to address their protest at Dharna Chowk on Friday.
As Anji Reddy began speaking, demonstrators disrupted his address, accusing the BJP of failing to speak up even two years after the issuance of GO 46. Protesters questioned the party’s silence on the issue and dismissed the visit as an insincere attempt to express solidarity.
The youth asked, “If BRS and Congress did injustice, what did BJP do?” In response, Anji Reddy said Union Minister Kishan Reddy had already organised a protest in support of the unemployed.
The confrontation led to a prolonged exchange between the protesters, the BJP MLC, and party workers present at the site.
Eventually, Anji Reddy reiterated that the BJP would support all agitations by unemployed youth.
