Hyderabad: BJP leader and Medak MP Raghunandan Rao received a threatening call on Monday afternoon from an unidentified person who claimed to be a Maoist.
The caller, using number +912143352974, allegedly warned the MP that he would be targeted by Monday evening, identifying himself as calling from Madhya Pradesh.
Following the call, Rao’s aides engaged with the caller, who repeated the threat, claiming Maoists had already left from Madhya Pradesh and would reach the MP’s location by midnight.
The incident triggered concern among Rao’s supporters. He immediately alerted the police and shared the caller’s number with the DGP and Sangareddy SP.
Police have launched an investigation and provided security to the MP. Efforts are on to trace the origin of the number and identify the caller.
