Hyderabad: BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao called on party cadres to uphold the vision of ‘One Nation, One Law, One Ration, One Election’ to strengthen national unity.
Speaking at an event held at the BJP state office to mark the birth anniversary of Jana Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on Sunday, Rao said every worker must commit to the cause of national integrity.
Floral tributes were offered to Mukherjee’s portrait before Rao addressed the gathering. He praised Mukherjee as a leader who waged many struggles from a young age, founded the Jana Sangh, and fought uncompromisingly on the Kashmir issue.
Rao said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir was in line with Mukherjee’s ideological legacy. Mukherjee opposed the idea of two constitutions, two prime ministers, and two flags in one country, Rao said, adding that history remembers him for that stand.
Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, MLC Anjireddy, state vice-president Gangidi Manohar Reddy, general secretary Premender Reddy, and Treasurer Shantikumar were among the attendees.
