BJP chief slams Congress over civic neglect in Jubilee Hills

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Tuesday lashed out at the Congress government over worsening civic conditions in Jubilee Hills, accusing it of failing to provide basic amenities in several colonies and bastis within the constituency.

Speaking at an election meeting in Kalpataru Residency, Erragadda division, Rao pointed to deteriorating drainage systems, damaged roads, open manholes, and non-functional streetlights. He said these long-standing issues, especially during rains, posed a severe risk to public health due to frequent waterlogging and foul odors.

BJP targets Congress and BRS for civic neglect

Rao alleged that municipal officials and local representatives had shown persistent negligence, worsening the situation on the ground. “Residents are forced to live in unsanitary and unsafe conditions. There’s no accountability,” he said.

He also criticised the administration for failing to enforce nighttime noise regulations. “Despite rules prohibiting loud DJs and music after 9:30 p.m., officials have failed to act, causing residents constant disturbance,” he added.

The BJP leader said both the Congress and BRS had failed Jubilee Hills despite having multiple terms in power. “The public has seen both. Now they want change,” he said.

BJP promises change, highlights Modi’s governance

Rao urged voters to support BJP candidate L. Deepak Reddy in the Jubilee Hills by-election, describing him as a responsive leader who addresses citizen concerns promptly.

He also slammed the Congress government for allowing the construction of a private cemetery in a residential area in Erragadda, calling it “a foolish and inhuman act,” especially during an election.

Highlighting the BJP’s national record, Rao said India had seen 12 years of corruption-free governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Compare that with the UPA era riddled with scams like 2G and 3G. It’s time Telangana sees that kind of change,” he told voters.
