BJP chief Ramchander Rao expresses shock over Saudi bus tragedy

Hyderabad: BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao on Monday expressed deep sorrow over the Saudi bus tragedy that killed 45 Umrah pilgrims, including several from Telangana.

In a condolence message, Rao called the accident “heart-wrenching” and said the loss had plunged the state into deep grief. The bus, travelling from Makkah to Madinah, collided with an oil tanker and caught fire, killing many on board.

He praised the quick action by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Riyadh. This included identifying the victims and coordinating with Saudi authorities for relief and formalities.

Rao urged the Telangana government to step up coordination with the Centre. He said all official procedures, including repatriation of bodies and help for affected families, must be completed quickly.
