Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Sunday promised to support Puttapaka farmers who are facing land loss due to changes in the Regional Ring Road (RRR) alignment.
Farmers from Puttapaka village in Choutuppal mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, met Rao to voice their concerns. They said the new southern alignment of the RRR cuts through their farmland. As a result, many of them are at risk of losing their primary source of income.
The farmers urged the state government to cancel the current road plan and carry out a fresh land survey. Instead of building through fertile fields, they suggested rerouting the road over nearby hills, which are not used for farming. According to them, this change would protect valuable farmland without affecting the project.
Farmers say current RRR alignment threatens livelihood in Puttapaka
Many villagers affected by the plan are small-scale farmers. They shared that the current route would place a heavy financial burden on their families. Furthermore, they warned that losing their land would threaten their ability to survive. They also stressed that fair alternatives exist and should be considered.
