Hyderabad: BJP Telangana leaders held a key strategy meeting on Sunday to prepare for the upcoming Telangana local body polls. State President N Ramchander Rao chaired the meeting at the party headquarters in Hyderabad.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, National Vice President D K Aruna, Legislature Party Leader Yeleti Maheshwar Reddy, Council Leader A V N Reddy, and senior leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy were present. Several MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and state office bearers also participated.
Leaders focused on boosting the party’s rural presence. They discussed plans for ZPTC, MPTC, and Sarpanch elections. They agreed that connecting with local voters and addressing grassroots issues must be a priority.
BJP to launch state-wide campaign on Congress failures in rural governance
The party plans to hold public meetings across districts. These events will highlight what BJP calls “Congress failures” in conducting local elections and ensuring BC reservations. Leaders accused the Congress government of paralyzing panchayat systems for 22 months.
To strengthen the poll effort, BJP will appoint former MPs, MLAs, and MLCs as ZPTC and district in-charges. District presidents and senior leaders will form booth-level committees. The state president will officially announce these appointments.
BJP also finalised a focused plan for the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election. A special committee will manage candidate selection, feedback gathering, and campaign outreach. City leaders will be fully involved in this effort.
