Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao has called on party workers to take part in relief and rescue operations as heavy rains lash the state.
In a statement on Wednesday, Rao said the party was mobilising its cadre across Telangana to help in emergency efforts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red, orange, and yellow alerts for several districts, warning of flooding, power cuts, traffic disruptions, and sewage overflows.

Rao instructed workers to shift residents from low-lying areas to safer places, distribute food and drinking water, provide medical aid, and help older people and children. He said BJP teams would work with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) if required.
“It is our duty to protect the lives and properties of the affected people during these difficult times,” Rao said.
