HYDERABAD: Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkatareddy has criticised both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), asserting that their political ambitions in the state are unattainable.
BRS’s decline and BJP’s unfulfilled dreams
Venkatareddy stated that the BRS is fading from the political landscape and will not return to power, even in dreams. He also remarked that the BJP’s aspirations to establish authority in Telangana will never materialise.
Congress’s Commitment to Welfare Schemes
Highlighting the Congress party’s dedication to public welfare, the minister praised the distribution of fine rice as a historic initiative aimed at upholding the self-respect of the underprivileged. He criticised BJP leaders for claiming credit in this scheme, stating their assertions are baseless. Venkatareddy emphasised that providing gas cylinders at ₹500 and distributing fine rice are initiatives unique to Telangana, unmatched by any other state.
Achievements Within a Year
Reflecting on the government’s performance, Venkatareddy noted that numerous developmental programmes have been implemented within just 12 months of coming to power.
Extension of Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme
Addressing the concerns of unemployed youth, the minister announced the extension of the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme’s deadline to April 14, urging all eligible individuals to apply promptly.
Criticism of BRS Leadership and Kaleshwaram Project
Venkatareddy accused BRS leaders of corruption, alleging that their exploitation led to the collapse of the Kaleshwaram project. He questioned the credibility of leaders who, after a decade in power and residing in farmhouses, now challenge the current administration.
Commitment to SLBC Tunnel Project
The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to completing the SLBC (Srisailam Left Bank Canal) tunnel project under any circumstances, underscoring its significance for regional development.
