Hyderabad: Rescue teams recovered the body of a man swept away in the Afzalsagar nala on September 14. The discovery was made at Nagole on Friday night.
Police said family members identified the victim as Rama after spotting a tattoo on his hand. Officials then moved the body to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for a postmortem.
Afzalsagar Nala victim traced after a two-week search
Heavy rains on September 14 dragged Rama and his relative Arjun into the Afzalsagar nala. Witnesses said Rama jumped in to save Arjun, but the strong current carried both men away.
The Disaster Response Force (DRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) launched extensive search operations. Teams found Arjun’s body a week ago in Yadadri district. They located Rama’s remains on Friday, ending the two-week search.
