Hyderabad: A bomb threat was issued to Begumpet airport through an anonymous phone call prompting a full-scale emergency response by local police and airport security.
Personnel from the Begumpet police station and airport authorities initiated protocol immediately after receiving the call. Bomb disposal and dog squads were deployed and a comprehensive sweep of the premises was launched.
All entry and exit points were secured. Flights and operations were not reported to be affected at the time of filing this report.
According to officials, the caller did not identify themselves and no specific group has claimed responsibility. Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway to trace the origin of the call.
