Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand paid a visit to the Ujjaini Mahakali Temple in Secunderabad on Sunday, checking in on preparations as Bonalu festivities got underway. After offering prayers, he walked through the temple premises, taking stock of queue systems and crowd control measures to make sure everything runs smoothly for the expected surge of devotees.
With lakhs of people likely to pass through during the celebrations, the city police aren’t taking any chances. Security has been ramped up across the temple grounds—CCTV cameras are in place, special crime units are on alert, and She Teams have been deployed to help prevent theft, harassment, or any kind of trouble.
Anand wasn’t alone during the inspection. He was joined by a full roster of senior officers, including Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D. Joel Davis and several Deputy Commissioners from key zones and departments.
Speaking to reporters, Anand emphasised the department’s focus on keeping the festival incident-free. “We’ve got a multi-layered security setup and full coordination between teams,” he said. “We’re ready for the crowds.”
