HYDERABAD: A massive irregularity has come to light in the Telangana Group 1 examinations, with BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy claiming it to be the largest scam of its kind in the country. He alleged that 654 candidates with hall ticket numbers in a single sequence were awarded identical marks, and another batch of 702 candidates in a separate sequence also received exactly the same scores.
Expressing shock over the discovery, Kaushik Reddy questioned how such uniformity in results could occur, stating that the incident clearly pointed to serious corruption in the examination process.
The BRS legislator said that if BJP leaders truly cared about the youth of the state, they should immediately call for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the Telangana Group 1 Scam. He demanded a transparent and impartial inquiry to ensure that the guilty are brought to justice.
The scam has cast a shadow over the future of thousands of candidates and sparked widespread public anger. The BRS accused the authorities of manipulating the examination system to benefit select groups.
As of now, there has been no official clarification from either the state government or the examination authorities regarding the allegations. However, the BRS has announced its intention to escalate the issue publicly on a large scale.
It is worth noting that the Group 1 exams have previously been marred by question paper leaks, and this was the third attempt at conducting them. Despite assurances of a foolproof process, new allegations of manipulation have surfaced in the evaluation stage. Many students and experts have also raised serious concerns about the results and the suspicious uniformity in marks.
