Hyderabad: The by-election for Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency will take place on November 11, following the death of sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath. In response, political parties have ramped up their campaigns.
The Election Commission released the official notification. The ruling Congress, opposition BRS, and BJP have all declared their candidates and are treating the contest as high-stakes.
BRS nominated Maganti Sunitha, wife of the late MLA. She has already filed three sets of nomination papers.

As a safeguard, BRS also submitted a nomination for Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, son of PJR. Party leaders explained that this move would provide a fallback option if Sunitha’s nomination faces any technical issues.
If her papers are accepted, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy is likely to withdraw before the final date. But if her nomination is rejected, BRS plans to retain him as its candidate.
