HYDERABAD: In anticipation of the forthcoming budget session commencing tomorrow, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and Opposition Leader K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) convened a meeting of BRS Legislative Party (BRSLP) members at Telangana Bhavan today. During the session, KCR directed party MLAs and MLCs to rigorously question the government on various critical issues, including the implementation of six guarantees promised by the Congress party, as well as matters concerning Backward Classes (BC) reservations and Scheduled Castes (SC) categorization.
Focus on Irrigation and Power Sectors
After nearly a year, KCR is set to attend the assembly sessions. In this context, the BRS leadership engaged in extensive discussions to formulate a plan of action. It is reported that strategies were devised to counter the criticisms from the ruling party in recent times. KCR is reportedly planning to challenge the government on issues such as the Kaleshwaram project and matters related to the power sector, especially in light of ongoing judicial inquiries initiated by the government. Discussions may also encompass water disputes with Andhra Pradesh and irrigation projects undertaken since the current government assumed office. KCR has instructed party legislators to vocally address public issues alongside him۔
Enhanced Security Measures at Telangana Bhavan
On this occasion, heightened security measures were observed at Telangana Bhavan. Compared to previous instances, security was intensified, with metal detectors deployed for inspections. Media personnel arriving for the meeting were also temporarily halted at the gates, leading to expressions of dissatisfaction regarding the security protocols.
