Hyderabad: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday launched a door-to-door campaign in Jubilee Hills, accusing the Congress of committing a massive guarantee fraud through unfulfilled election promises.
He toured Shaikpet and Samatha Colony with MLC Dasoju Sravan and BRS minority leaders. During the outreach, he distributed “Congress Baaki Cards” to residents and explained how the Congress government had failed to deliver on key guarantees.
KTR said the by-election in Jubilee Hills was a critical opportunity for voters to respond to Congress’s deception. “They think people will forget. But this campaign will expose every broken promise,” he said. Youth and locals gathered in large numbers, giving KTR a rousing welcome.
Residents listed a range of civic issues they faced after Congress came to power. They cited irregular garbage collection, stagnant sewage, frequent power cuts, and a decline in public services. KTR listened to each concern and promised to raise the issues with the government. Locals, in turn, expressed trust in KCR’s leadership and pledged support for the BRS.
Baaki Card campaign highlights ₹99,000 loss per family, says KTR
Addressing the media later, KTR alleged that Congress betrayed every section of society. He said each woman was denied ₹55,000 under the promised ₹2,500 monthly scheme, while every elderly person was owed ₹44,000 under the pension scheme. “They even failed to provide scooters to students,” he added. The Baaki Card, he said, was designed to document this betrayal.
KTR urged voters to elect BRS candidate Sunitha, wife of Maganti Gopinath. “People still see KCR as their true Chief Minister,” he said, appealing for votes across all castes and communities.
He also criticised Congress MLAs Yennam Srinivas Reddy and Madan Mohan. “When their own MLAs are writing to the World Bank or publishing articles begging for funds, it shows the failure of governance,” he said.
KTR mocked the Congress Ministers campaigning in Jubilee Hills, calling them “tourist ministers” who would disappear after elections. He also slammed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s “Future City” plans. “When the present city is drowning in floods, he is dreaming of real estate in empty lands. Cancelling metro projects in developed areas exposes his incompetence,” KTR remarked.
