Hyderabad: BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar on Sunday alleged that Congress itself was the first to use phone tapping in the country, even as its ministers now accuse the BRS of the same practice.
Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan, Praveen Kumar claimed Congress was adopting every tactic to harass BRS leadership. He alleged that BJP MPs Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and Eatala Rajender were being used by Congress in this matter.
According to Praveen Kumar, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy approached the CBI on his own, alleging his phone was tapped, and gave a statement. He said the ongoing phone tapping probe was not being handled by senior police officials but by senior Congress leaders based at Gandhi Bhavan.

Praveen Kumar further referred to allegations once made by Congress leader Ponnam Prabhakar against then Andhra Pradesh chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, accusing him of phone tapping. He argued this showed Congress started such practices first.
