HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLAs staged a protest at the 125-foot statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar near Necklace Road, Hyderabad, condemning the Congress government’s alleged repressive actions against their leaders.
The protest was organized to oppose what the BRS claims is a targeted crackdown on their members. According to reports, several BRS leaders were placed under house arrest ahead of the demonstration, a move seen as an attempt to suppress dissent.
The choice of the Ambedkar statue as the protest site carries symbolic significance, as Dr. Ambedkar stood for social justice and democratic rights. The BRS leaders argued that their voices were being silenced and accused the Congress government of misusing power to intimidate the opposition.
Political observers note that the escalating tensions between the BRS and the Congress government reflect the ongoing power struggle in Telangana. The protest highlighted the BRS’s demand for fair treatment and an end to what they call politically motivated actions against their members.
As the situation unfolds, all eyes remain on the state’s political landscape, with both the ruling and opposition parties standing firm in their positions.
