HYDERABAD: Several BRS MLAs approached Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar on Saturday requesting the revocation of the suspension of their party member, Jagadish Reddy.
Ahead of the Assembly proceedings on Saturday, BRS leaders Harish Rao, Sudheer Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, Sabitha Indra Reddy, and KP Vivekanand met the Speaker in his chamber. They formally appealed to lift the suspension imposed on Jagadish Reddy.
The BRS MLAs argued that Jagadish Reddy had not used any inappropriate language against the Speaker. They asserted that the suspension was unfair and violated parliamentary traditions. The legislators emphasised that at no point did Jagadish Reddy breach Assembly protocols, making the suspension unwarranted.
Urging immediate action, the BRS MLAs requested Speaker Prasad Kumar to revoke the suspension and allow their colleague to participate in the ongoing sessions.
When the Assembly session resumed, Harish Rao raised the same issue in the House requesting the Speaker to consider revoking the suspension of Jagadish Reddy.
