Hyderabad: BRS leadership lodged a formal complaint with Cyberabad Police Commissioner on Wednesday, alleging that party MLC Shambhipur Raju has been receiving threat calls. The complaint was submitted by a delegation led by MLC and Opposition Leader in the Legislative Council Madhusudana Chari.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Madhusudana Chari said Shambhipur Raju was a prominent figure in the Telangana movement and remains a core part of the BRS organisation. “Raju is backed by 60 lakh BRS workers. We have demanded a full probe into the source of the calls and strict action against those behind them,” he said.
He also accused former minister Mynampally Hanumantha Rao of threatening behaviour. “He’s acting like a street rowdy, intimidating people openly. The Chief Minister must take note and act against such elements,” Madhusudana Chari said.
The party has asked police to treat the matter with urgency and ensure the MLC’s safety.
