Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Monday caught Budhera village secretary Nagalakshmi red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹8,000.
According to Medak ACB DSP Sudarshan, the accused demanded the amount from a resident of Kohir mandal for allotting a house number to a water servicing centre and open plot located at Budhera crossroads in Munipalli mandal.
After the demand was made, the complainant approached ACB officials. Following their instructions, he met the secretary on Monday and handed over the money. ACB personnel caught her red-handed when she was accepting the bribe.
The agency urged the public to report similar incidents of bribery involving government officials. Complaints can be lodged through the toll-free number 1064 or via WhatsApp at 9440446106. The ACB is also available on Facebook and through its official website, https://acb.telangana.gov.in.
The bureau assured that the identities of complainants would be kept confidential.
