Hyderabad: The central government has sanctioned ₹6,119.88 crore for widening and repairs of national highways under the Kamareddy division of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), including major allocations for the Nagpur-Hyderabad NH-44 corridor.
As part of the Bharat Mala project, ₹521 crore was earmarked for upgrading a 10.03 km stretch of NH-44 between Boyin Pally and Gundla Pochampally from four lanes to six. A second phase covering 17 km from Gundla Pochampally to Kallakal received nearly ₹900 crore.
The Kamareddy NHAI division oversees approximately 100 km of national highway. Funds have also been released periodically for routine maintenance and black spot rectification on this stretch. Between 2014 and 2025, total expenditure on expansion, repairs, and construction across this corridor reached ₹6,119.88 crore.
