Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudarshan Reddy on Saturday instructed officials to strictly follow Election Commission guidelines in implementing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Telangana CEO stresses accuracy, punctuality in all SIR stages
In a video conference with all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), the CEO reviewed the progress of the SIR program along with pending election-related tasks. He urged officials to prioritise precision, caution, and timely execution at every stage.
Sudarshan Reddy directed teams to fast-track pending SIR activities and enhance the overall quality of the voter list. He emphasized the importance of field verification, claim and objection redressal, accurate data entry, and flawless voter list updates.
Senior officials presented reports on key areas of the revision, including voter roll updates, error rectification, and field validation procedures. The CEO reiterated that a clean and accurate voter roll is vital for conducting fair elections.
Deputy CEO Hari Singh and other senior officials from the Chief Electoral Officer’s office participated in the conference.
