HYDERABAD: In the ongoing session of the Legislative Council, Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy expressed his displeasure towards MLC Tata Madhu for his continuous running commentary during proceedings on Saturday. The incident occurred while MLC Kodandaram was speaking, and Tata Madhu’s interruptions prompted the Chairman to intervene.
Addressing Tata Madhu, Chairman Reddy said, “What is your nuisance? You are creating a disturbance. Every day, your running commentary—what is this?” He further advised, “If you wish to speak, do so when the microphone is given to you.”
The situation escalated when MLC Kavitha responded to the Chairman’s choice of words. She expressed dissatisfaction with the use of the term “nuisance” to describe a fellow member’s behavior, stating that it was inappropriate. Kavitha remarked, “I am not someone significant to advise you, but please remove that word from the records.”
In a related development, BRS MLCs staged a protest in the Legislative Council premises, demanding a support price of ₹15,000 per quintal for turmeric. During the protest, Madhusudhanachari noted that while the central government announced the establishment of a Turmeric Board, it lacked legal backing. He urged the central government to grant statutory status to the Turmeric Board promptly.
