HYDERABAD: In response to statements made by former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) regarding the Congress party’s influence in Telangana, Bhongir Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has issued a strong rebuttal. KCR, during a key meeting at Telangana Bhavan marking the 25th anniversary of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party, asserted that the BRS is the only party capable of fighting for the people and claimed that the Congress party’s governance has led Telangana backward, resulting in significant public opposition. He also expressed confidence that the BRS would undoubtedly return to power in the 2028 elections.
Addressing these remarks, MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy stated that there are no conditions in Telangana that would necessitate by-elections in the next five years. He suggested that KCR’s comments stem from the BRS’s diminished presence in local body elections, contrasting with the Congress party’s growing influence. Reddy further challenged KCR’s commitment to public welfare, implying that if KCR were genuinely concerned about public issues, he would actively participate in Assembly sessions to discuss and address them.
This exchange highlights the ongoing political tensions in Telangana, with both parties vying for public support and attempting to assert their relevance in the state’s evolving political landscape.
