The march began at 8 a.m. from Mellacheruvu Thanda and proceeded to the Tahsildar’s office in Sansthan Narayanpur. Schoolchildren joined the march, stating they also suffered due to the lack of transportation.
They said buses and autos refused to enter the village because of the damaged road, forcing them to walk five kilometers each day. Their words struck a chord with fellow protestors.
CPI leaders ended the padyatra by submitting a memorandum to the Tahsildar. They demanded the immediate construction of a tar road.
