Hyderabad: A new Udbhav School campus for underprivileged children was inaugurated on Wednesday at Shastri Nagar, Fatehnagar, by Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, IAS, and Director General of Police Dr. Jitender, IPS.
The campus was established by the Hyderabad Charitable Trust of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad Alumni Association (IIMAA HCT) to offer schooling from LKG to Class X for children from Rasoolpura and Fatehnagar slums.
Retired IPS officer S.V. Ramanamurthy, along with trustees Shanmukh, Harish Kumar, Sitaram, and Sri Harsha, led the initiative as part of a broader commitment to social upliftment.
Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao called education the highest social service, recalling his own experience in a similar school. He said the campus would help unlock student potential and affirmed state support for such efforts.
DGP Jitender likened student talent to Hanuman’s strength—revealed only when recognised. He praised the IIMA alumni’s sustained work in expanding access to quality education.
The school will follow the Telangana State Board syllabus. Speaking at the event, Shivakumar said the campus would focus on value-based instruction from early grades through Class X.
Fundraising Committee Chair T. Muralidharan said the Udbhav network now serves 1,086 students with 55 teachers, 3 principals, and 11 support staff across campuses.
Corporate supporters, including Coromandel, EY, Signode, RBL Bank, and Nadam Chemicals, were honoured during the event, along with individual contributors Shanta Vallury Gandhi, Jasmeet Singh, Veereshwar, Ranga Kota, and Tirumala Rao.
