HYDERABAD: Three children were found dead under suspicious circumstances at their residence in Ameenpur, Sangareddy district, early Friday morning. Their mother has been admitted to a private hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
According to the police, the woman complained of abdominal pain around 3 a.m., and her husband Chennayya, with help from neighbors, shifted her to a hospital. When Chennayya returned home, he found their three children lying dead. The deceased have been identified as 12-year-old Sai Krishna, 10-year-old Madhupriya, and 8-year-old Gautham.
The police shifted the bodies to a local government hospital for postmortem and registered a case of suspicious death. An investigation has been initiated.
Superintendent of Police, Sangareddy district, Preethoush Pankaj, along with other senior officials, visited the house in Raghavendra Nagar where the incident occurred. The woman is being treated at a private hospital in Beeramguda.
Reportedly, the family had dinner around 9 p.m. on Thursday. Chennayya, who works as a water tanker driver, ate rice with dal, while his wife and children consumed curd rice. He later left for work. When he returned at 11 p.m., the children were asleep. Around 3 a.m., his wife developed sudden abdominal pain, prompting him to take her to the hospital.
Police are currently investigating whether the incident was a case of food poisoning or if the woman attempted to poison her children due to family issues before trying to take her own life.
