Hyderabad: The Children Islamic Organization (CIO) concluded its nationwide plantation campaign, “Hands in Soil, Hearts with the Nation,” with a closing ceremony held on Sunday at the Islamic Centre in Lakkadkot, Hyderabad.
Dr. Mohammad Mubashir Ahmed, City President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Greater Hyderabad, presided over the event. Dr. Saraswati Kaula, a member of AIMs, joined as the chief guest.
The program began with Qur’an recitation, followed by flag hoisting and hymns. Children performed the CIO anthem, a campaign song, and a mime act focused on environmental awareness. A report presented during the event revealed that thousands of children, youth, and volunteers across India took part in planting saplings and promoting green values.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Saraswati Kaula applauded the initiative. She highlighted the need to instill love for nature among children. “If we plant and protect trees together, we can build a greener and healthier future,” she said.
Dr. Mubashir Ahmed also praised the campaign’s impact. He specifically acknowledged the role of parents—especially mothers—in encouraging their children to participate. “A clean and healthy future is our duty. Let us ensure our children grow up under open skies,” he stated.
The ceremony ended with awards for outstanding volunteers, competition winners, and performers. A vote of thanks and prayers followed.
CIO confirmed that over 2,000 saplings were planted across Hyderabad, many under the supervision of children. The group announced that plantation activities would continue to encourage broader environmental action nationwide.
