Hyderabad: A 14-year-old boy studying in Class 6 was found dead at his residence in Mohammad Nagar, under Balapur police station limits, after his father declined to get him a mobile phone.
The boy, identified as Sheikh Ayaan, was enrolled at a private school in the area. His father, Sheikh Nisar Ahmed, earns a living as an autorickshaw driver.
Police said Ayaan had asked for a mobile phone. When his father refused, questioning the need at his age, the boy was reportedly upset. He was later found hanging inside the house.
A case has been booked. Investigation is ongoing.
